Instructional Design
I incorporate ADDIE or Agile in my workflow, depending on the project, and Backward Design to design and develop learning experiences.
Deliverables: Design documents, storyboards, and transcripts
Tools: Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Hiking to Supai
Microsoft Word
Problem: Many hikers were not heeding the rules to hike to the Havasupai Reservation.
Solution: An Articulate 360 Storyline course, with information taken from the official website, that engaged learners and informed them of the rules and risks.
Addressing Concerns about Solo Travel
Microsoft Word
Problem: Solo travel (business or leisure) is sometimes seen as unsafe or complicated.
Solution: An animated video created in Vyond that answers common questions about traveling alone.
Otter Transcription Mobile App
Microsoft Word
Problem: Sometimes live transcription is needed to follow along with a meeting, presentation, or video that does not have captions or a transcript.
Solution: An instructional video on how to use Otter.
Revamping the Interview Strategy of Verse
PowerPoint
For the other projects, I created text-based storyboards in Word; for this storyboard for Verse, a fictional company, I wanted to give an idea of what the course would look like before developing it in Storyline. Avoiding a traditional bulleted slide deck, I went for a more visually engaging style. Another revision would be necessary after receiving feedback from stakeholders about the look of the course.
